WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?

A "Chemical peel" is a general cosmetic term used for a number of chemical classification treatments used to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. HOW DO THEY WORK? A superficial chemical solution (acid based) is applied to the skin, and works by dissolving the upper layers of the skin, creating a controlled chemical injury. Lactic Peel

Exfoliates and improves moisture retention properties to promote hydration resulting in softer, smoother skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines. Lactic acid peels are best suited for dry and dehydrated skin conditions, and are a milder treatment approach to skin rejuvenation.

Glycolic Peel

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane. It is the most potent of AHAs. This chemical deeply penetrates into the skin, promoting the repair and regeneration of the skin. It is best recommended in aid of aging skin, uneven texture, tone and pigmentation. For faster and more immediate results, this chemical is available in a variety of concentration strengths, ranging from 20%-50%. Glycolic Peels are a popular peel for those who desire to have clearer, youthful and brighter skin tone.

Salicylic Peel

Salicylic acid (BHA) is a beta hydroxy acid, which is an antibacterial solution derived from willow bark, wintergreen leaves and birch bark. It is an oil based antiseptic exfoliant that deeply penetrates into in the skin, cleansing the pores of any excess debris and bacteria. Best recommended for acneic skin as it aids in controlling oil production, clearing blemishes, whiteheads and blackheads while reducing inflammation and can improving hyperpigmentation.

RSL Peel (Modified Jessner Peel)

A synergy of effective acids, (Resorcinol, Salicylic Acid and Lactic Acid) that when used together effectively rejuvenates the skin. It works to diminish the appearance of fine lines while enhancing clarity, tone and texture of aging skin. Through a combination of acids, the RSL peel is considered to be a more aggressive peel as it is formulates to rebuild the skin, promoting cell turnover. Is suited for all skin types and is ideal for conditions such as melasma, acne and mild rosacea

TCA Peel

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used as a deep peeling agent and is considered to be the most aggressive of the Biophora Peels. Targeting to decrease the appearance of fine lines and surface imperfections such as rough, aged, sun damaged skin. This peel promotes radiant, healthier looking skin and delivers faster and deeper results.
