Vascular Laser WHAT IT DOES?
The Cutera CoolGuide vascular laser emits a long wavelength light energy pulse, which is absorbed by the blood pigment of the targeted vessel. The destroyed blood vessels are simply reabsorbed by the body. The cooling head of the laser is applied immediately before and after the laser pulse thereby minimizing discomfort. AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE? Any person who cares about their appearance and is restricting their activities because of unsightly blood vessels can be helped. All skin colours can be treated but tanning should be avoided before and after treatment. Treatment over tattoos is avoided as it could cause fading. ARE THERE ADVERSE REACTIONS Usually there is some short term reddening over the skin in the treated area. Rarely blistering can occur. Sometimes there is a temporary increase or decrease in skin pigmentation. Occasionally bruising may happen with the treatment of larger vessels. This usually resolves within a few weeks. IS IT PERMANENT? No treatment can guarantee 100% removal of veins and vessels. What can be achieved with the Altus CoolGuide laser is a 70% to 90% long term reduction in the numbers of unwanted vessels of at least two years duration and often much longer. WHAT DOES IT COST? You will find that the fees listed below for laser removal of unwanted blood vessels using the efficient, effective, fourth-generation Altus CoolGlide™ laser are surprisingly affordable. Fees are per treatment session, plus GST, and can be paid at the time of treatment with Interac, Visa, MasterCard, cheque or cash.
